It’s about pedagogy

Algebrakit is the infrastructure partner for digital mathematics. We provide the rule-based input, step-by-step feedback, and adaptive assessment that power math learning inside other platforms — as an API, web components, and SDKs — so that educational publishers, institutions, and developers can build on a foundation made specifically for how mathematics is taught and learned, rather than adapting general-purpose tools to the job.

Algebrakit was founded by a maths teacher who saw the same problem play out again and again: students getting stuck not on the new material itself, but on things from earlier in the curriculum — forgotten, half-learned, or never properly taught in the first place. Digital tools promised to help exactly at that point of friction, but only if they could meet a student on the terms they’d actually been taught. That gap became the starting point for Algebrakit: a scaffold built to support students precisely where they get stuck.

Precision is the whole discipline. We never assume knowledge a student hasn’t yet been given, and we never suggest a method they haven’t been taught. Notation and wording matter — a step that’s technically correct but phrased or written the “wrong” way can confuse a student more than it helps. And we treat learning as more than reaching an answer: the goal is to add to a student’s understanding, one step at a time. None of this is fixed — it changes by curriculum, by grade, and often even between different methods taught within the same grade — which is why our content and logic are built to be configured to match, rather than applied as one generic standard.

That precision comes from a team with genuine depth: people with backgrounds in teaching, mathematics, and IT working side by side. Our team is mature, and our systems and processes are time-tested, scalable, and secure — we’ve held ISO 27001 certification for some time now.

We describe our infrastructure as a white box, by design: every step, hint, and evaluation is transparent, traceable, and auditable, in deliberate contrast to black-box AI systems. That’s exactly what makes it a strong foundation to combine with AI rather than compete with it — a direction we’re actively continuing to explore.
